Hi Rose,
Looking forward to the metabolic challenge - I was wondering will you sharing more recipes in each phase or only the pdf that’s been shared? I find them so helpful for ideas but also for portion sizes etc
Thanks
Claire
Hi Rose,

Here’s one I need some help on please Rose Ferguson I’m a good eater usually (90%) and mindful, diverse flavours (pre and probiotics) do you think I ought to take Epetome daily? Theyre not cheap but if needs be, I’ll do it. Obviously I completed a course post my antibiotics and whilst clearing my system. Shall I resubscribe and keep going? Xxx
Hi Rose! Re the metabolic challenge, does no coffee & matcha mean no caffeine at all? Is green tea ok? Also what are your thoughts on decaffeinated coffee? And one more… I generally follow a 14:10 eating pattern (eating between 9am & 7pm). Do you recommend extending that to 12:12 for this first stage even though I’m used to 14:10? Though to be honest I still haven’t worked out what’s right for me so maybe this is my chance. Thank you so much! x
Please can anyone tell me how to access the video from yesterdays Rclub Clinic - Metabolic challenge and the questions Rose answered please? I’ve clicked into the calendar but there is no video - wanted to go and listen xx
Just sign up and keen for the metabolic challenge starting 11 May. I live in Syd and just making sure I have what is required. Looks like I need a juicer, are you able to confirm?
Happy Monday! I have 4 weeks to hit a really close friends wedding (plus a few nights out in between). Please, I figured if I start it today, in any event follow the basics ❤️ Andddd I’m sure the answer is yes, but I loved your recipes from the monthly 5 day challenge, I’m going to incorporate those recipes and tailor a few things to stick to the phased content. Are dates inc in dried fruits? Almond butter is a no too right? (I don’t mind as I love control over it). May we incorporate a liquid day in phase 1? I enjoy Wednesday as a mid week since my first protocol. When you say miso is that miso soup? My eating window has always been closer to the one in. Phase 2, any objections jumping ahead, please - 14:8? xxx
Jodie Lee Hi – firstly, brilliant work getting to Day 3 and really committing to the process.
What you are describing sounds very normal and is often part of the body adjusting when we make a real shift in the way we eat and support ourselves.
When you move to a plant-based, anti-inflammatory diet, some natural recalibrations can happen – and they tend to show up quite early, around the three to five day mark.
In your case, the hot flushes could be linked to a few things:
Hormonal changes – when you increase your plant intake and particularly fibre, your body becomes better at clearing and regulating hormones like oestrogen. That shift can temporarily unsettle your usual balance while your system catches up.
Blood sugar adaptation – when we lower processed foods and sugar, the body has to adjust how it manages blood glucose. Small dips in blood sugar, especially mid-morning, can stimulate a release of adrenaline and cortisol, which sometimes feels like a flush of heat or energy.
Nervous system reset – reducing caffeine, sugar, and processed foods also affects the sympathetic nervous system. It can take a few days for everything to recalibrate, and during that process, your body may have little surges as it adjusts.
In short, this sounds like a very natural part of the reset rather than something to worry about. It should start to settle as your system adapts and finds a new rhythm.
A couple of small things that might help:
Make sure your breakfast is substantial – include some plant protein, healthy fats, and fibre to balance your blood sugar early in the day.
Keep well hydrated, and try not to go too long without food in the mornings while your body is still adjusting.
Of course, if the flushes continue beyond the retreat or become stronger or more frequent, it would be worth exploring further
You are doing so well, J– keep going and keep me posted
Hi all see you in 5 for club clinic - and if you can't join I have lots of questions that I will answer then so you can catch up after xxxx
No judging deadly ‘snack’ question…. Movie days with my little man are key and I used to love home made popcorn, it’s our go to. How does Rose Ferguson feel about popcorn? Yay or nay? ❤️
